All interested singers are most welcome to come along to visit our rehearsals. Please let us know that you’re coming and we’ll be ready to make you feel at home.

Joining Us to Sing

All singers are welcome – female or male. Our singing is as a gentle blessing, providing ease and comfort – not a performance. However, we request that you’re able to hold a melody as we sing a capella (without accompaniment) and many of our songs have harmony parts and are in rounds. So if you can carry a tune, blend your voice with others and sing with kind intent, we welcome you, your heart and your precious time.

Rehearsal

Rehearsals are currently the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at our Auburn home base from 7.30pm – 9.15pm.

We begin our rehearsals with a gathering ritual – usually in the form of a meditation and/or vocal toning. This helps bring a calm and focused presence to our practice together, and for our work at the bedside.

Exercises in vocal play, listening and harmonizing follow – to help strengthen our voices, and to align with the other voices around us.

Then we settle in to singing our repertoire – expanding on all of the above. We often sing to each other to generate our understanding of being sung to, and developing our intent as singers in a Threshold context.

Cost

Members’ fees are $30 per term, with payment at the start of each term (four terms per year). For those joining mid-term, only payment of the joining fee ($10) is required. These fees contribute to the cost of our rehearsal space and sheet music.

We keep costs as low as we can. Please speak with us if you would like to join but have financial difficulties and we can come to an arrangement.
